Rising moons, Deyanira, and thanks for bringing your question to planDisney! I always enjoy helping my fellow Californians, so let’s get started!
Watching my son build a custom astromech droid unit from
Droid Depot in
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland Park was one of my favorite Disney experiences last year! Even though
the theme parks are currently closed, I'm happy to report that there are still several ways to bring some droid fun home this holiday season!
I visited Downtown Disney District at the
Disneyland Resort recently, but didn’t have droids on my radar. So, I went ahead and called Merchandise Guest Services to help answer your question. A Cast Member told me that there's currently a BB-8 Remote Control Toy available at
World of Disney in Downtown Disney District, selling for $54.99. She said that quantities were low, and the availability is subject to change at any time, as is the price. So, I recommend heading there this weekend if you’re interested in trying to pick one up for the holidays! I also found this
BB-8 Interactive Remote Control Droid online on
shopDisney. Currently, it appears to be out of stock, but I recommend continuing to check in case more become available soon. Another favorite droid of mine is this adorable
D-O Remote Control Droid – my son got it for his birthday in March, and he still loves playing with it! In case you’d like to call
Merchandise Guest Services with any additional questions, you can reach them at (877) 560-6477.
If you decide to visit Downtown Disney District this weekend,
here’s a helpful page to check beforehand with all the latest updates and information you’ll need to know. Parking is available in the Simba Parking Lot for a $10 fee upon arrival. You’ll also need to wear a face covering and undergo a temperature and security screening before entering. But, it's all worth it -- you’ll love checking out the adorable holiday décor throughout Downtown Disney District and
Buena Vista Street! It’s so nice to return to a piece of the magic.
May the Force be with you this holiday season and beyond, Deyanira!
