Where is a good place to watch Illuminations from within Epcot. What time do we need to stake out a spot? We'll be there in October. Thanks!

Well the good news is that most times in October crowds will be relatively modest so the number of folks searching for the best spots will be fewer.   If you are fine with standing (versus sitting) you probably won't have to stake out a spot much earlier than 15 minutes or so to get a good view.  I personally enjoy watching from Japan as I have found this to find a good view of the events.

Here are some other tips - ask the Disney Cast Members around the countries where is the best place to stand.   They know this stuff inside and out.   So if you don't happen to be around Japan, I am sure they can point out a good spot from just about every other country.   The one area I typically avoid is by the entryway to the countries (between Mexico and Canada).   This is where most people like to stand, as they are anxious to see the show and quickly leave.    Hope this helps!
