Where is a good place to rest at Magic Kingdom without leaving the park?

    Hi Jeanine,

Thanks for visiting Disney Parks Moms Panel.

Even the most dogged and determined Walt Disney World Guest needs a moment now and then to sit down and set a spell.

Walt Disney himself enjoyed a good place to sit and relax. As the story goes, he came up with the inspiration and idea for Disneyland as he sat on a bench in Griffith Park while his daughters played on the Griffith Park Merry-Go-Round.

A few years ago we celebrated the New Year in Magic Kingdom — from early morning on New Year's Eve and into New Year's Day — and we took to our favorite respite get-aways to recharge throughout the day.

My first suggestion is to take a ride on the Walt Disney World Railroad. You can climb on board and relax while you enjoy the scenic tour of the lands of Magic Kingdom. The railroad station itself at Main Street, U.S.A. provides a perfect place to sit and take in all the ambiance of the most magical Main Street imaginable.

We also enjoy sitting at the shaded tables tucked away on the quiet Main Street, U.S.A side street near Uptown Jewelers. We often find ourselves there enjoying a sweet treat snack or beverage from Main Street Bakery.

Perhaps my favorite, not-so-secret hideaway is over near Aunt Polly’s Gazebo on Tom Sawyer Island. I love pulling up a rocking chair in the shade and soaking up the beauty overlooking Rivers of America.

I'm sure you'll find your own perfect spot to relax and recharge before getting back to your magical day.

    Enjoy your Disney!

Meet the Panelist: Jerry, Pennsylvania

The playful and creative optimism of all things Disney has enthralled me since I was a kid. I loved watching "The Wonderful World of Disney" on Sunday nights, seeing all the live-action and animated classics in theaters, and — of course — visiting "The Most Magical Place on Earth" for the first time 45 years ago. These days, the big kid in me still loves to play Disney. As a long-time Disney destinations vacationer, I'm looking forward to helping you play Disney starting here at planDisney!
