what is a good one day itinerary for magic kingdom for adults

Hello Gail! Let’s create a magical day for you at Magic Kingdom! My wife and I just had our first “no kids visit” to Disney World last summer. We thought it might be a difficult adjustment, but we loved being able to go at our own pace and experience things that we had never done when traveling with our sons.

My first recommendation is to book a delicious Disney Dining dinner experience at either Be Our Guest Restaurant or Cinderella’s Royal Table. The menu at both locations is perfect for adults, and you can take your time enjoying your meal in either castle! Both of these dining experiences are table service, which will allow you to get off your feet for a while and relax in the air conditioning. At Be Our Guest Restaurant, keep an eye out for Beast! The master of the castle has been known to visit the dining rooms as Guests enjoy their meals. And, of course, Disney royalty awaits at Cinderella’s Royal Table, where the Disney princesses hold court and greet Guests!

For lunch, I recommend either quick-service dining at Columbia Harbour House (where you can still sit) or table service dining at Tony’s Town Square Restaurant. These are two of my favorites!

The attractions are the highlight of any visit to Magic Kingdom! My top picks are Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Under the Sea ~ Journey of the Little Mermaid, Mickey’s PhilharMagic, “it’s a small world,” Haunted Mansion, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Pirates of the Caribbean, Jungle Cruise, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, Space Mountain, and TRON Lightcycle / Run! Of course, all of these attractions are included with your theme park ticket!

Give yourselves some convenience for the day by purchasing Lightning Lane Multi-Pass! This feature allows you to pre-select three attractions that you’d like to experience with shorter waits than the traditional standby line. Then, once you use your first Lightning Lane, you can select a new Lightning Lane and continue adding new Lightning Lanes (pending availability) throughout the day!

Gail, be sure to stick around after dinner because the fun is just getting started! There is amazing nighttime entertainment at Magic Kingdom! I highly recommend the Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away parade! There is also Happily Ever After! This fan-favorite fireworks show lights up the nighttime sky over Magic Kingdom every night (weather permitting)!

Here is a PRO TIP! If you're staying at a Disney World hotel, give yourself an afternoon break! Arrive for Early Theme Park Entry (a perk for Disney World hotel Guests) and enjoy attractions in the morning hours when park attendance is a bit lighter. Then give yourself an afternoon break by returning to your resort hotel for either a nap or relax by the pool. Head on back to the park in the late afternoon for an evening full of fun! I always recommend staying until the park closes! The crowds have left for the day, and you can enjoy the theme park in a unique way.

Well, there you go, Gail! From dining recommendations, to ride attractions, and can’t miss entertainment, I hope you now have a good idea of creating the perfect visit to Magic Kingdom!

    Dreams do come true!
