Hey there, Ann Marie. Thanks for stopping by the
Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.
The Kiss Goodnight is a hidden gem at
Magic Kingdom Park. In fact, a lot of people don't even know it exists which makes it pretty special if you ask me. This almost nightly show is Magic Kingdom Park's way of telling you goodnight and that the park is now closed. 30 minutes after the park closes and then again 1 hour after the park closes
Cinderella Castle starts to sparkle and change colors. Music is played and then this message is told by a narrator,
“Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, on behalf of everyone here at the Magic Kingdom, we thank you for joining us today for a magic gathering of family, friends, fun, and fantasy. We hope your magical journey with us has created wonderful memories that will last a lifetime.
Walt Disney said that the Magic Kingdom is a world of imagination, hopes, and dreams. In this timeless land of enchantment, magic and make believe are reborn, and fairy tales come true. The Magic Kingdom is a place for the young and the young at heart. A special place where when you wish upon a star, your dreams can come true. Until we see you again, have a safe trip home. Thank you, and goodnight.”
After that, Cinderella Castle goes completely dark for a few seconds and it's so simple but yet so beautiful just the way Walt Disney himself would have wanted it. If you stay to see The Kiss Goodnight during your visit, be sure to have your camera ready. It's absolutely one of the best times to get pictures because no one is in the background.
I hope this helps. If you have any other questions, please feel free to come back and ask.
