Hi, Nina, and welcome back to planDisney! Thanks for bringing us another great question.
My family loves staying at Good Neighbor Hotels - the convenience and comfort they provide have always been a great experience, for us. Sounds like you're thinking of booking a
Good Neighbor Hotel Package, so let me provide you with some more details about payments and cancellation polices.
For Good Neighbor Hotel Package reservations made 31 days or more prior to your arrival, a deposit of $200 per reservation will be due. Then payment in full will be due to Walt Disney Travel Co. 30 days prior to your arrival. If you are making a reservation for 30 days or less prior to arrival, you'll need to pay in full at the time of the reservation. I recommend paying in full travel as early as you can because ePackages and other travel documents will not be issued until final payment is received. You'll want all those details for your visit!
Now while we hope that nothing will get in the way of your visit to the Happiest Place on Earth, Nina, it's true that sometimes emergencies do come up, unfortunately. And it's good to know what to expect if you have to cancel your trip.
- For cancellations made 30 days or more prior to your arrival, amounts paid will be refunded (unless there are fees assessed by third party hotels or non-refundable travel protection plan which will be detailed in your reservation).
- For cancellations made 4 days to 29 days prior to your arrival, amounts paid (minus a cancellation fee of $200) will be refunded.
- For cancellations made 3 days or less prior to your arrival or for no-shows, the full price of the package is non-refundable.
- There is also a "24-Hour Booking Policy" that allows package reservations to be fully refundable within 24 hours of booking, if booked 72 hours or more prior to posted check-in time.
All of the Terms and Conditions I outline here are current at the time of this writing but are subject to change. However, they will always be available to you right before
booking your Good Neighbor Hotel Package online or by
calling Disney.
I hope this information is helpful in your planning, Nina! My biggest tip for anyone staying in a Good Neighbor Hotel is to make your park reservations for the opposite days of Early Entry. Disneyland Resort Hotel Guests are allowed into one of the two parks each day 30 minutes prior to official park opening, so if you begin your day at the park that does not have Early Entry, you avoid these crowds. In short, our Good Neighbor friends (you!) should start their day in Disneyland Park on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and California Adventure Park on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. You should know, Nina, that the schedule is subject to change so always double check the
Hours & Events Calendar prior to your visit. It will indicate which park has Early Entry on any given day.
I'm so excited for your upcoming visit to the Disneyland Resort, Nina! I hope you have the most magical time. If you have any other questions that come up in your planning,
stop by again! Happy to help!
Warmest wishes,
McCayla
