If you're hoping to save your Explore Key activation until December, you'll want to hold off on using any
Magic Key benefits before then. Your Magic Key becomes active the first time you either enter a theme park using the pass or utilize an eligible parking benefit associated with the pass. That means if you use your Explore Key parking benefit for your Oogie Boogie Bash visit in October, your pass would activate that day.
Once activated, your Explore Key would be valid for one year from that activation date, so an October 2026 activation would mean an expiration in October 2027.
The same general rule applies to Magic Key
discounts and benefits. Since those perks are tied to an active Magic Key, you'll need to have activated your pass to use them.
If maximizing your year of Magic Key access is your goal, you may want to wait until December to begin using your pass benefits. That way, you'll be able to enjoy your Explore Key all the way through December 2027.
