Good morning, We are planning our 1st trip to Disney (late September -mid October). I am feeling overwhelmed. Should we just go to a travel agent? We have a party of 6 ( 2 adults, 7yo, 6yo, 4yo, 18m). Most places say they can't fit our party.

    Hello Erin!

It is wonderful to hear you are planning your first Walt Disney World vacation.  Congratulations! I know it can seem a bit overwhelming at first and if you'd feel better, booking through a travel agent is a practical option, but you have come to the right place and we would love to guide you as you plan your magical adventure. Fall is my favorite time to visit Mickey and his pals.  The weather is a bit cooler, the crowds are historically a little lighter and the special events and decorations are amazing.

Although you are a family of six, Disney doesn't consider guests under the age of 3 in their room occupancy totals, so you are able to stay in any accommodations designed for parties of five or more. The link above will show you the great and affordable options available for your family. The family suites at Disney's Art of Animation Resort and Disney's All Star Music Resort are beautiful and offer two bathrooms, putting them at the top of my list. Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside also offers accommodations for five and my family loves this resort's charm and character. I have no doubt you will be able to find the perfect place for your family to call "home."

Since you are visiting during my favorite time, I have to recommend attending one of my favorite special events: Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.  Your whole family will love dressing up and trick-or-treating throughout the Magic Kingdom.  It is spook-tacular! Remember, the planning is half the fun and we are here to help you.  No question is too big or small, so send them all.

    Happy Planning,

    Lauren

Hi-ya, Pals! I'm Lauren, a wife and mother of three who's enjoyed many special occasions at Walt Disney World Resort with my family and friends. From graduations to birthdays, and even our Fairy Tale Honeymoon we’ve loved celebrating at the most Magical Place on Earth. I now have pre-teens who check wait times in the My Disney Experience App just for fun, so I look for any excuse to return "home" often and would love to help you plan a little extra Pixie Dust for your next magical adventure.
