Good morning, We are coming to Animal Kingdom on Sunday, Feb. 20th. We aIready have our tickets and reservation. I am trying to make our dining reservations but the site is down. What should I do?

Hello and welcome to planDisney, Maria. Thanks for stopping by with your question.

It sounds like you've got a really fun day planned during your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation. I love Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. I was just there the other day and had so much fun.

I'm sorry you had some trouble making your advanced dining reservations for that particular day. My first thought would be to try a different web browser. Sometimes when the Walt Disney World website isn't working quite right for me I'll open up a new browser and it's good to go. That's a simple fix. If that doesn't work, I suggest going to that particular restaurant's website directly. On the right-hand side of the screen you'll see the option to "Check Availability". From there, you'll enter the date, time and how many people are in your party. If there is availability, you'll have the option to secure the dining reservation right then and there. If that doesn't work, then I'd go ahead and call the dining reservation hotline. You can speak with a Cast Member and have them help you with your dining reservations at 407-WDW-DINE. Phone lines open up around 7:00 a.m. Mickey Mouse's time each day. The earlier you can call, the better. Sometimes there can be a little bit of a wait.

If you aren't able to secure a dining reservation for the restaurant that you'd like, there are many quick service dining options to choose from at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. My favorite place to grab a bite to eat without a dining reservation is Satu'li Canteen which is located in Pandora - The World of Avatar. They are open for lunch and dinner. What I like about eating there is they have these bowls that you can customize to your liking. You pick a base, a protein and sauce. I love the potato base with the wood-grilled chicken thighs and the creamy dressing for the sauce. It's a really great meal.

I hope you are able to secure the dining reservation that you would like for your upcoming trip, Maria. If you have any other questions while you plan, please feel free to stop back by and ask me. I'm here to help.

    Have fun and enjoy!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
