Good morning; My family and I will be arriving on Tuesday mid afternoon . We will be leaving early on the following Monday. So basically we have 5 1/2 days to get in as much as we can. First time so what would be the best approach with the time we have?

    Hi John,

Your family must be so excited about your first trip to Walt Disney World!  I get goose bumps just thinking about it, and I'm not even going along.  Here's how I would spend my time if I were you:

Tuesday:  Get settled in to your resort and spend some time exploring where you will be staying.  Essentially, get the "lay of the land" so that you know what resources are available to you at your hotel while you'll be there.  Make a reservation for a lovely table service dinner outside the parks for the first night.  Perhaps your family would enjoy Chef Mickey's at Disney's Contemporary Resort.

Wednesday:  If you are staying at a Disney resort, head to a theme park with Extra Magic Hours.

Thursday:  Choose another theme park on this day.

Friday:  Spend this day shopping at Downtown Disney, enjoying the amenities of your resort, or exploring one of Disney's fabulous water parks.  I also like to spend a day mid-vacation checking out other Disney resorts.  It's never too early to research where you'd like to stay on your next vacation!

Saturday:  Head to yet another theme park.  Again, look for one offering Extra Magic Hours.

Sunday:  Visit the last of the four Disney theme parks.

Monday:  Depart for home with a wealth of wonderful new Disney memories!

    Have a blast!
