    Good morning! I will need to make 2 dinner reservations for a party of 10. Do you have any recommendations to ensure we're at 1 table (vs. 2 tables like our last trip, despite making the reservations 6 months in advance)? Thanks!

    Hi Christine! Most of the restaurants have limited large tables for seating of the guests. It really does not matter when you make a reservation as far as any guarantee to being seated at one or two tables. You can ask them to note your request with your reservation but please understand it is simply a request. When you check in at the podium of the location you can again ask if it is possible for them to seat you at one table. Again this might mean more waiting time for your group even if you have a designated reservation as that only means you will be seated at the next available table.

    My family traveled for years with 16 guests and we found separating into several tables was the best way to go for many reasons.  If you have all ten sitting at one long table it will be impossible for those at one end to converse with those at the other end. Basically you are only able to talk with those immediately around you. We developed a great "game" for dining seating and the family loved it. When we checked in we asked what the table situation would be as far as on table, two, etc.  Then we would draw names for each table which meant we were always sitting next to someone new making it a real treat. If we had an infant that child would naturally sit with the parent but from toddler on up we included the children in the drawing of tables. It was so much fun to get to know nieces and nephews and catch up with siblings and inlaws. We tend to gravitate to our own family and this was a super way to break from that pattern and have the chance to really talk during our meals. It is just a thought for you to consider since you will also be traveling with a larger group.
