good morning, my wife is graduating with her PhD and i want to bring her on a cruise but i also have 3 children, 8,4,2 and on top of that we are moving this summer to Houston. do you suggest a cruise and if so do you recommend a particular cruise.

    Hi, James!

First of all, congratulations on all that's going on in your lives. It sure sounds like your family is blessed, and I'm proud of your wife's accomplishments. You are a sweet husband and father, and I think a Disney Cruise Line vacation is a most excellent way to celebrate this season of life for you all!

Since you'll have a lot going on this summer, I recommend taking a cruise in the fall -- either out of Port Canaveral (Caribbean or Bahamas) or the Port of Los Angeles (Mexican Riviera). Since you'll be in Houston, the flights are fairly comparable to each port, but generally speaking, you'll be able to sail for more nights on the Mexican itinerary than the Caribbean or Bahamas for about the same fare.

For the greatest convenience, you may want to wait until September 2012 when the Disney Magic sails out of Galveston to the Western Caribbean. If you don't mind the kids missing a little school, you can plan a fabulously long cruise, lock in an "early bird" rate and not have to figure in airfare since the port is about an hour away from Houston. I am so excited for you!

Let me know if I can help you once you've booked! I look forward to hearing about your decision. Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation. Bon voyage!
