Hello there, Steve, and my warmest welcome to planDisney! Wow, you should be nominated for a 'Grandparent of the Year Award' for taking your grandkids to Walt Disney World. What a generous and unforgettable experience to share with your family. I'm so excited for you all.
Although no calls can be booked directly through Walt Disney World, you can personalise and print an
official letter from Mickey (for free). It's a super easy process, and you can add your arrival date too. Steve, I'd like to share how we made this moment extra magical for our kiddos. We placed some helium-filled Disney balloons in a box with this letter attached. When our kiddos opened the box, up popped Mickey with his special message. I'm sure our neighbours heard the squeals of delight!
I highly recommend downloading the
My Disney Experience App to your phone before the trip. It's a great idea to get used to all its functionality, as it really is a helpful tool in navigating the Parks.
Once you're at Walt Disney World, you'll see many character interactions and experiences available. Our little ones loved meeting the Toy Story Characters in
Disney's Hollywood Studios. Just check the My Disney Experience App for experiences depending on your grandchildren's interests. If Disney Princesses are more their thing, for example, dining at
Akershus Royal Banquet Hall in
EPCOT, is a great idea. If you're missing Old Blighty on your trip, it's just a few more steps around the EPCOT's World Showcase to the U.K. Pavilion's
Rose & Crown Pub for a taste of home.
Steve, I wish you and your grandkids many magical moments together. Enjoy creating those memories that will last a lifetime. I would love to help with any more questions you may have ahead of your Walt Disney World adventure, Louise.
