Good Morning! Can you tell me when Splash Mountain is closing for the retheming? Also, can you tell me the current procedure for being able to ride "Rise of the Resistance"? Thanks!

    Good day, Amy!

Welcome and thanks so much for stopping by planDisney with your questions!

When I heard about the planned update of Splash Mountain, I was beyond excited! Tiana is such an iconic character! And, the music and theme of Princess and the Frog will make for a wonderful ride. But, I understand wanting to enjoy another ride on before the change occurs. Unfortunately, at this time, no closing dates have been announced. But, keep an eye on the Disney Park Blog, for the latest breaking news and announcements. Including information on when we can expect the attraction to close for retheming.

It sounds like you’re getting “Resistance Ready” and I’m happy to help you better understand the procedure! When attempting to join a Boarding Group for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, I recommend using the My Disney Experience App on your mobile device. You can use multiple mobile devices so that each Guest in your party can try to secure your position in the virtual queue. Log on to your account at one of the distribution times, either at 10:00 a.m. or 2:00 p.m. Check out the Disney Parks Blog for the steps you'll want to take to join the virtual queue!
Lastly, if you have not already, be sure to make advanced Disney Park Pass reservations for the day you wish to visit Disney’s Hollywood Studios! To gain entry, you'll need a reservation in addition to valid theme park admission.

Have a wonderful visit to “The Most Magical Place on Earth!”
