Good morning… Can you tell me currently what restaurants have character dining right now?

Hey there, Christine! Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question.

I'm excited to see that you are thinking about your dining reservations for your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation, Christine. Currently, Guests are able to make dining reservations 60 days prior to their Walt Disney World vacation so if you haven't done so already, you can go ahead and call 407-WDW-DINE to make yours. Phone lines open up at 7:00 a.m. Mickey Mouse's time and I do suggest calling early in the morning as phone lines do tend to get busy throughout the day. You are also able to make dining reservations online, which is a convenient way to do it!

Even though not all character dining locations are open just yet, there are still several great options to choose from. Chef Mickey's at Disney's Contemporary Resort, Garden Grill Restaurant at Epcot, Hollywood & Vine at Disney's Hollywood Studios, Topolino's Terrace - Flavors of the Riviera at Disney's Riviera Resort and Tusker House at Disney's Animal Kingdom are currently accepting reservations for character dining meals.

While the list above is fabulous, and I have enjoyed all of the options at one time or another, I do have a favorite that you might be interested in. If you are only looking into enjoying one character meal during your vacation, I highly suggest breakfast at Topolino's Terrace - Flavors of the Riviera. The restaurant itself is just beautiful and provides stunning views of the Walt Disney World Resort. On top of that, the food is out of this world. Even though you order an entree from the menu, this meal is actually considered all you can eat. I love their breakfast quiche but can never say no to a Mickey waffle and dining there, I don't have to!

Character dining does look a little bit different than it used to, Christine. Right now, characters are not coming around to individual tables to take pictures and sign autographs. Instead, you'll find characters dancing, waving and posing for pictures from a safe distance away from the crowd. It's still a lot of fun and I actually took the best selfie with my pal, Minnie Mouse this way.

I hope this list helps, Christine. If you have any other questions, please stop back by and ask me. I'm here to help. Enjoy!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
