good Morning! I am planning a visit for December 20th and December 21st, with my youngest daughter who is 4 and my youngest son who is 7! we are coming strictly for the character interaction, experiences. what are your reccomendations? rthanks so much!

Hello Anne! Meeting favorite characters is an important part of any visit to the Walt Disney World Resort! Your little Mouseketeers (and you) must be excited about their visit later this month!

Use your My Disney Experience app to plan your character meetings! When you open your app, tap “Wait Times & Showtimes” under “My Visit.” All experiences are in alphabetical order, so you’ll want to scroll to the “M” section where all character meet-and-greet experiences begin with “M” for “Meet.” You don’t have to wait to plan your meetings at the Most Magical Place on Earth! You can visit the app now to get an idea of which characters are available for meetings!

There are a few other fantastic character experiences, but they don’t involve meeting the characters. My favorite is the nighttime spectacular, Fantasmic!, at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. This nighttime show is home to one of the largest showcases of characters at the Walt Disney World Resort! If your goal is to see characters, then this show is not to be missed!

You’ll also want to check out the Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade at Magic Kingdom Park! Favorite characters make their way along the parade route! The parade will take place at 2:00 on December 20, 2024. However, as a PRO TIP for you, you should know that the parade won’t take place on December 21, 2024, because it will be replaced by Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade on December 21, 2024! This seasonal parade only takes place during regular park hours for a few days each year, so this is a special event!

Here is another PRO TIP for you, Anne! One of my favorite character meet-and-greets is at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park! The opportunity to meet two characters from the Lion King is a bit of a hidden gem at this park! Guests can meet Timon and Rafiki at Conservation Station. One of the nice parts about this experience is that you can board the Wildlife Express Train from Harambe Station to Conservation Station. The train ride is just a few minutes and is very fun for kids of all ages! Many Guests are unfamiliar with this character experience. As a result, the line to meet Timon and Rafiki isn’t typically long for Guests!

Finally, you might want to consider some Character Dining experiences at the Walt Disney World Resort! Many of the most popular locations might be booked this close to the December holiday season, but you should never give up on finding a character dining experience! Guests change and cancel plans. That could open up some dining reservations. I even recommend checking on the “day of” for dining availability!

    Dreams do come true!
