Good Morning! I am planning a quick trip with my kiddo and one of their friends. My question is, since it's just one adult and two kids is there a way for me to book an adjoining room at POFC so they have more space to sleep?

    Hi Lucy,

Welcome to planDisney, and thanks for bringing a thoughtful question our way. How lovely that you’re taking your child and their friend on a special escape to the Walt Disney World Resort! Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter is such a fun place to stay; I’m happy to help you understand how to be comfortable in these rooms.

Each resort reservation must have an adult listed as a Guest on the room, and each adult may only stay in one room at a time. A government-issued identification is required upon check-in to confirm this policy, so unfortunately you cannot have the kids in a separate room and reserve two rooms under your name.

While the Guest rooms at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter offer two queen beds for a party of three, Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside offers a room type called a “5th Sleeper.” These rooms offer two queen beds plus a pull-down bed which can comfortably fit a teenager or small adult. My family prefers these rooms for more space and flexibility in sleeping arrangements with three separate beds in one room.

If you’d like to make this room type change, you can navigate to your reservation on the Walt Disney World Resort website. Under My Disney Experience, select My Plans and then Modify next to your resort reservation. If that room type is available for your travel dates, you can make the change and finalize this online. If you’d like support or have additional questions, please call Disney for assistance with this modification. Changing a room type or resort will not affect the rest of your carefully made vacation plans.

Whether you stay at French Quarter or Riverside, you have access to all the wonderful amenities at both sides of this fun themed resort, Lucy! Be sure to stop by the Scat Cat’s Club - Café for those famous Mickey-shaped beignets, or take a water taxi to Disney Springs for some tasty treats and shopping together.

I hope this helps you understand the possibilities for a comfortable stay together soon. Whatever you decide, you’re going to have a fabulous time together making memories this summer at the Walt Disney World Resort.

Wishing you blue skies and sunshine,
    Amy
