Mike from FL Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

Good morning... We have our own snorkel equipment, however I see in the activities section a required snorkel vest/floatation device is required. If we have our own vest do we still need to book a package to be able to snorkel in the bay?

Ahoy there, Mike! Welcome aboard planDisney! Looks like you're just about a month out from your incredible Disney Cruise Line vacation! And judging by your question, you and your crew also have a fun-in-the-sun-filled day at Disney Castaway Cay to look forward to! Consider me about ten-percent jealous and 90 percent excited for you!

Hopefully, by this point, you have your alarm set for the very minute you can complete your Online Check-In! Completing check-in means you'll be able to choose a Port Arrival Time, and a Port Arrival Time means the final piece of the puzzle that is embarkation day planning - clearing the way for the ultimate in relaxation once your sail date hits the horizon!

As a Guest who also enjoys spending time in the snorkeling lagoon and searching for sunken statues in some of the clearest water in the Bahamas, I've got great news! If you plan to bring your own snorkel and mask with you, you can make use of the snorkel vests at no additional charge!

This is definitely a planDrew-approved approach and a fantastic way to squeeze a bit more magic out of your day at Disney Castaway Cay! I definitely suggest heading to the snorkel lagoon early to take advantage of the best visibility and to work up an appetite for the incredible lunch that awaits at either Cookie's BBQ, Cookies Too, or Serenity Bay Barbecue!

Oh, and if you are planning on running the Castaway Cay 5k, remember that as of your message, it is still being run at your leisure - no need to report for a group start - simply run the course on your own and ask a crew member where to pick up your finisher's medal You can also check the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app for the location

I hope that helps you set a course for your incredible day on Disney Castaway Cay, Mike! Thank you so much for your question, and if you run into any others as you finalize your plans, be sure to drop us another line at planDisney!

Until then, may your anchor be tight and your compass true!
