Good morning I’m bringing my 2 year old what identification do I need to bring if they need proof that she’s 2?

Hi Kathlene, welcome to planDisney! Golly, your little one is in for such a treat! Enchanting character encounters, tasty snacks, and fun attractions – so many happy family memories can be made during your visit to the Disneyland Resort!

Kathlene, are you ready for some pixie-dusted news? Guests ages 2 and younger do not need a theme park ticket, reservation, or identification when visiting the Disneyland Resort with family and friends. In fact, they are special Guests of Mickey Mouse! At the main entrance, the Cast Member may ask how old a child is, but identification is not a requirement for children. That said, when my youngest daughter was 2 years old, I kept a photo of her birth certificate on my phone in case her age was ever questioned. She was and still is quite tall! I never needed to show it, but I felt better having it on hand. You're welcome to do the same if you want to have backup for peace of mind.

Ahead of your trip, I recommend browsing the Disneyland website and making a list of the attractions and entertainment that you and your family are most excited about. You can even filter by height, thrill factor, and age. Some of the attractions my kids liked most when they were 2 years old included Mad Tea Party, Dumbo, Jungle Cruise, "it's a small world," King Arthur Carrousel, and Pirates of the Caribbean. Mickey's Toontown is fun, too. That's where you'll find Goofy's How-To-Play Yard, which has colorful roller slides, interactive sound features, and more for Guests ages 2-12.

Another way to add magic to your visit is to meet characters. My kids love saying "hi" to Disney pals roaming throughout the park. And the Royal Hall is a great place to greet Disney Princesses! Your child may enjoy getting an autograph book signed each time your family encounters a character.

One more tip: the Baby Care Center at the end of Main Street, U.S.A., has toddler-size toilets, changing tables, and a vending machine with essentials available to purchase, like sunscreen and over-the-counter medicine. It was really helpful to me when my kids were little.

Kathlene, I hope you have the most magical visit to the Happiest Place on Earth! If you have any other questions, please let us know. We are always happy to help!
