Hello, Frankie!
Welcome back to
planDisney, and thanks for asking us another
Disneyland Resort question. It sounds like you’re gearing up for a fun family vacation at the Happiest Place on Earth!
Actually, MagicBands are only used at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and don’t connect with the technology in place at the
Disneyland Resort, so there’s no need to purchase them for your visit. However, do be sure all your
theme park tickets are linked in advance so you’ll be able to join a virtual queue boarding group for certain
attractions once your vacation begins. In the
Disneyland mobile app, tap on the icon that looks like three horizontal lines to reach the main menu. Tap "Tickets and Passes" and then the “+” symbol. Tap “Link Tickets & Passes” and scan the barcode for each ticket with your smartphone camera or type in the ticket ID numbers. One of you can do this for everyone’s tickets in order to add your group to the virtual queue, or you can all add each other’s tickets if multiple members of your family will be attempting to secure a spot in the queue.
I hope this helps, and that you all have a blast exploring both theme parks, Frankie. Say hi to the amazing Spider-Man for me if you see him hanging around in
Avengers Campus, and let me know if you catch any loose Spider-Bots while you’re there! Please feel free to swing by again if you have more questions as your planning continues.
Wishing you magic,
Courtney
