Hi, Lisa!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thanks for stopping by with your great question about the
Disneyland Resort. I bet you’re looking forward to visiting the Happiest Place on Earth with your little princess!
If you have booked a
vacation package that includes theme park tickets and hotel accommodations at either a Disneyland Resort Hotel or a Good Neighbor Hotel, then your granddaughter is considered her age at check-in for the duration of your visit and will not need a park ticket. However, if you purchased or plan to purchase your theme park tickets separately, then yes, she will require a ticket on the day she turns 3 years old and on all subsequent days. This rule is based on the requirement that children’s ages be provided when you book a vacation package, but not when theme park tickets are purchased individually.
Be sure to pick up a complimentary birthday button for your granddaughter at City Hall in
Disneyland Park or at the Chamber of Commerce in
Disney California Adventure Park. It can be customized with a name so the birthday girl will receive personalized wishes from Cast Members all day! If you have any table-service meals planned, let your server know you’re celebrating a birthday because she may receive some extra magic during your dining experience.
I hope this answers your question, Lisa, and that you have a wonderfully pixie-dusted vacation with your family! Please visit us again with any other planning questions you can dream of as your trip approaches.
Wishing you magic,
Courtney
