good morning, we will be dining at be our guest on 1/23/24 and my daughter who is 15 is extremely picky.. would we be able to substitute the pan seared chicken breast for the poulet rouge chicken? or would we be able to order from the children's menu?

Bonjour Wendi, and welcome to planDisney!

It sounds like you're looking forward to making your way into the Beast's enchanted castle in order to enjoy a meal at Be Our Guest and as Lumiere says: "the dinner here is never second best"! Now when it comes to diners with more discerning tastes like your daughter, the Cast Members at dining locations across Walt Disney World Resort often do their best to try to accommodate the needs of folks and families who might find it challenging to find choices that suit them best.

I inquired with the Cast Members who specialize in Special Dietary Requests and they advised me that your best bet would be to inquire directly with your server and also let them know as you check in at the castle; though substitutions can never be guaranteed in advance, they let me know that a swap with an existing item on the Be Our Guest menu is not as difficult to accommodate compared to a more complex request due to allergies or health concerns.

This past year we had the opportunity to have a late dinner there and one of our dining companions asked if it was possible to order an item from the Kids' offerings, and we were delighted when our server was able to make it happen for us. (Note that we were still charged the full adult pricing for the meal despite the swap, which they were prepared to accept.) Personally I grew up a fairly choosy eater myself, and it was actually through the magic of Disney on an early visit to the theme parks where I gradually opened up to new options, textures and flavor combinations - in fact the culinary offerings found at the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts during your visit might be a good chance to experiment without having to commit to an entire meal!

I hope that your serving team at Be Our Guest will do their best as you put their service to the test, and that your daughter is able to enjoy a meal that she enjoys in those beautiful surroundings. In the meantime, don't hesitate to come on back to planDisney for any other tips or advice - food-related or otherwise!

    Bon Appétit!
