Hello Janine,
Thanks for stopping by with your excellent question. I think it is great that you are considering other activities besides just going to the theme parks. There are so many hidden gems around all of Walt Disney World Resort to explore. Here are some of my recommendations.
The
Wonderland Tea Party at 1900 Park Fare at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa is a delightful hour of fun for young girls. They will have cupcakes and listen to stories while enjoying tea with some favorite characters. It is typically offered Monday through Friday at 1:30pm. Keep in mind that times and dates could change without notice. Reservations are required, so be sure to call (407) WDW-PLAY (939-7529) to make your reservations.
Another fun option is one of the
pirate adventure cruises at select resorts. The fun isn't just for boys and offers a great way for the kids to enjoy some time with other kids searching for treasure while mom and dad get some time to themselves. This is offered at multiple locations, so be sure to check this out. Kids must be between 4 and 12 years of age.
Even though it isn't at a resort, miniature golf at one of the uniquely themed courses is a great way to spend a morning, afternoon or evening away from the theme parks.
Winter Summerland and
Fantasia Gardens and Fairways are tons of fun and very conveniently located near Blizzard Beach and the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotels, respectively.
Have a wonderful trip making magical memories with your girls.
