Good day Marlee!
A very warm welcome to planDisney! Thank you so much for trusting me to answer your question!
I love your thoughtfulness! Purchasing a
Southern California Resident Ticket as a Christmas present is a wonderful idea! The
Disneyland Resort made an update to the ticket purchasing system that required Guests to make their
Theme Park Reservations during the ticket purchase process. So, you will need to pick out dates to complete the transaction. If you'd like to change the dates at a later time, you may cancel the Theme Park Reservations by logging in to your Disneyland Account and selecting "My Disneyland." Then, click "Ticket and Reservation Details" and select "Cancel Reservation." After you receive the confirmation of cancellation, they’ll be able to book a brand new theme park reservation for their desired date. The new reservation can be made at the time of cancellation or at a later time.
I would remind you that the SoCal Resident Ticket does require proof of Southern California residency. So the recipients should bring a government-issued ID that reflects eligible residency within ZIP codes 90000-93599. If their ID does not reflect their current address they should bring a copy of a bill or statement with their name and address listed on it. Or a lease contract or rental agreement and any utility bills that list their name and address.
Thanks again for stopping by planDisney with your question!
