Welcome aboard, Christian!
Wow, a
Very Merrytime sailing next December for two magical milestone birthdays will be extra special! I’m glad you found us here at planDisney so I can help you understand the many options for ground transportation.
Disney Cruise Line offers ground transportation to and from the many
departure ports around the world. You don’t have to be staying at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel at the Walt Disney World Resort to take advantage of this opportunity. I love using this ground transportation as it leaves the logistics and driving details to Disney while I can relax and flip into “vacation mode” before I step foot onboard! No matter where you arrange the transportation from, Disney Cruise Line’s ground transportation option is an additional per-person fee and is reserved in advance.
You can
see the options for your cruise by reviewing the ground transportation available for each port. There are also phone numbers here for you to
call Disney Cruise Line if it may be easier to discuss your options. Each departure port also has special
partnerships with local hotels, where transportation may be offered directly to your port terminal on embarkation day. Transportation is also available to and from nearby airports. My family prefers to mitigate any travel delay risks by flying in the day before a special cruise adventure, but we often reserve ground transportation back to the airport for a seamless return ride on disembarkation day.
You can add this transportation reservation to your cruise reservation by either calling Disney Cruise Line or selecting
Ground Transportation from the website or
Disney Cruise Line Navigator App after logging into your account. In my experience, the default booking is round trip online and you must call to reserve only one-way transportation.
Be sure to also add a note about these special birthdays on your reservation under Special Requests, Christian. You may also browse the fun options for
onboard Gifts and Amenities to purchase room décor or a special treat in advance of your sailing as a surprise to your family. Options may become more plentiful as your sail date approaches, perhaps this time next year.
Thanks for sailing by planDisney with a great question on adding ground transportation to your cruise. Don’t be a stranger as you continue to plan the details of this extra magical trip – we'd love to help you make the most of it or ease your mind as questions arise.
Wishing you a magical sailing,
Amy
