    Annie from IL Asked

Good morning, We are arriving to you on October 13th. Is there yet a date for us to book dining reservations or secure Fastpasses? Do you anticipate that resuming sometime soon? Thanks!

Hey there, Annie! Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question.

Planning a Walt Disney World vacation is so exciting! October is such a fun time to visit the Walt Disney World Theme Parks. Have you seen the announcement about the new Boo Bash that is taking place on select nights this fall? This is going to be a Halloween-themed after-hours event at Magic Kingdom Park. Some of the Boo Bash highlights include Halloween-themed cavalcades, candy stops, character sightings, and themed food and beverages to enjoy plus special decorations, lighting, and music! I think it's going to be so much fun and hopefully, you'll be there to enjoy it too!

Annie, as of right now, you can make advanced dining reservations for your trip 60 days prior to your check-in day. It's been this way since the reopening of Walt Disney World last summer. If I did my math correctly, and you'll want to check for yourself to verify, that puts your reservation date on August 14, 2021, a Saturday. You can make reservations online starting at 6:00 a.m. Mickey Mouse's time or over the phone by calling 407-WDW-DINE starting at 7:00 a.m. You will be able to make all of your dining reservations for the length of your stay up to 10 days.

Currently, the FastPass+ program has still not returned to us after the shutdown last year. There have been no announcements made as to if or when this program might return. I've been keeping an eye over on the Disney Parks Blog hoping for some details... but nothing yet. If the program returns before your vacation this fall, you will be able to add those FastPass+ reservations on through your MyDisneyExperience if it returns looking the same as it did before. But, no guarantees there either! The good news is that wait times have still been very manageable for some of the most popular attractions with lower capacity. I was at Magic Kingdom Park just a few weeks ago and we walked on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad at 12:30 in the afternoon. Normally, that would be unthinkable as wait times can be pretty long around lunchtime.

I hope you are able to snag some really great dining reservations for your trip in October, Annie. If you have any other questions before your trip, please feel free to come back and ask me. Happy planning!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
