Good morning. I actually have a few questions. We will be at the parks second week of Jan. How soon can we book FP and Dinner res if we are not staying onsite? Second I have a magic band from 2012, will it still work? 98 days and counting

    Hi Angela,

I can hear your excitement in your question, and I just wanted to let you know that all of us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel are excited with you! You're going to have such a magical vacation!

All Guests are eligible to make dining reservations 180 days ahead of time, so feel free to go ahead and make those now! The advantage to staying at a Disney Resort hotel when it comes to dining reservations is that you may make selections for the entire length of your trip, up to 10 days, at that 180-day point, so it extends your window a bit. Guests staying off-site may still make dining reservations 180 days ahead of time, though! As far as FastPass+ selections, you'll be able to make three selections per day 30 days ahead of time, one day at a time. Did you know that once you've enjoyed the three selections you made ahead of time, that you may use the My Disney Experience app or an in-park kiosk to make additional FastPass+ selections, one at a time, until the parks close? I love how much time this wonderful service saves!

As for your MagicBand question, MagicBands are reusable, however, the battery in them is only expected to last around two years, so you'll likely need to purchase a new one for this upcoming trip. They're available online or at many retail locations all around the Walt Disney World Resort. You'll simply want to link your new one to your My Disney Experience account to be able to access everything.

Please let us know if you have any other questions as you're planning your trip, Angela, and have a truly magical vacation!
