Is it a good idea to make reservations at the Downtown Disney restaurants also? We don't want to be tied down with having to eat at a certain time and wondered what our chances were at restaurants at that location such as Rainforest Cafe. Thanks!

While there is always a risk of not making reservations, if you are truly concerned with being tied down to a certain time or date, I suggest taking your chances.   With restaurants like Rainforest Cafe, you may need to wait for a table but as long you are willing to wait a bit, they can often get you in.   As you may know, the good news with Downtown Disney is there is no lack of choices for dining.  So if your restaurant of choice is too crowded there may be other fine options.

The altenative option is to call ahead and make a reservation.  Should you find yourself delayed or unable to make, you can simply call back to cancel.   This way you can't loose!    I would particularly recommend this option if you are traveling during a peak season or during prime dinner hours on weekends.   That is when I find these restaurants most crowded.
