    Is it a good idea to get a dinning plan? My children are picky eaters and also don't eat much so my husband says he rather pay extra than be locked into a plan. Is that a good idea or are we making a big mistake? Do you save alot of $ by having the plan?

    The dining plan is really very convenient and the kids don't cost that much on the dining plan.  You need to think about which restaurants you will be visiting during your trip.  If you think you will be eating at character buffets I think the dining plan is definitely worth it.  Also consider what you and your husband will want to eat while on vacation.  If you usually order the least expensive entrees than the plan isn't going to save you as much as it will a family who wants to order steak or seafood entrees.  

    My family and I aren't big eater, but we enjoy the nicer entrees that are offered at the table service restaurants.   When we get counter service meals we order fruit cups for dessert and carry them around the parks with us for future snack.  Many times we bring the fruit cups back to our resort room and than eat them for breakfast the next morning.  Your desserts can also be non perishable items like potatoes, cookies, etc.

    The dining plan only saves my family about 5-10%, but its still worth it to us to save the extra dollars.  It is also relaxing having everything paid for.  If the kids want a popcorn you don't have to think twice about how much your spending because its included in the dining plan.
