Is it a good idea to bring a 3 month old to WDW?

    Hi Heather,

Welcome to the Moms Panel!  Of course my initial reaction is, YES!  Any age is a great age to visit Walt Disney World.  However, my more practical side tells me that there are other factors to consider.

I think that bringing an infant to Walt Disney World is perfectly acceptable, and not at all unusual.  I would suggest that you first discuss your plans with your pediatrician, because the health of your baby is first and foremost.  There are a lot of exposures at Walt Disney World due to the nature of the diverse general public, and this could be a risk for children with weakened immune systems.

So assuming you get the all clear from your pediatrician, I think you can have a wonderful time traveling with an infant!  I would certainly suggest that you not only bring your own stroller, but bring some sort of sling or front carrier for your child.  This will make navigating the crowds or waiting in a line much easier.  Make sure that you have plenty of light colored clothing and hats for your baby because of the sun exposure.  I always bring a few light receiving blankets to use as extra sun protection in the stroller or carrier.

Lastly, be sure to utilize the Baby Care Centers.  There is one located in each of the four theme parks, and they are a WONDERFUL resource when traveling with babies.  They offer changing tables, rocking chairs, a small kitchen for heating/warming/cleaning food and bottle supplies.  They also have a supply of products such as pacifiers, diapers, wipes for purchase.

I hope this helps, have a great trip!
