Hiya Melanie - welcome to
planDisney!
Thanks so much for stopping by with your question for our team of panelists today. We love to help Guests just like you plan your very own, very magical, Walt Disney World Resort vacations!
As a fellow Ohioan, I can definitely understand why you'd want to visit in December! The temperatures in Orlando are a bit milder than usual, but still plenty warm to provide us with the escape we need from Winter! You'll also be visiting during the
Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary Celebration, full of exciting new entertainment,
attractions, food, and so much more - you're going to have an amazing time!
It sounds like you have some additional family members who thought your plan was so great, they want to join in too! Since you mentioned the Waitlist, I'm going to go ahead and assume you are a
Disney Vacation Club Member (me too!) using Points to book. The great thing about using the Waitlist is that when you create a Waitlist request, you are actually able to select the reservation you would like it to replace if your Waitlist request becomes available. So, when making a Waitlist request for the 2-Bedroom Villa using the same Membership you used to make your Deluxe Studio reservation, you'd simply select the Deluxe Studio reservation as the one you'd want to replace! If your Waitlist comes through, the previous reservation you indicated it should replace will be canceled for you. If you have any trouble, you can always call Member Services at 800-800-9800 for additional assistance.
Remember, Melanie, you can have
up to two active Waitlist requests per Membership per Use Year, so you might want to consider making another Waitlist request as a back-up, making sure that everyone can join you on the trip. You could consider another Deluxe Studio to pair with your existing reservation, or you might consider making a second 2-Bedroom Villa Waitlist request at a different Resort which may ultimately have more availability. I would suggest
Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort, one of the largest Disney Vacation Club Resorts at Walt Disney World. Ultimately, the decision is up to you - is it more important to be at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, or more important for everyone to be able to join you?
I hope this information helps as you continue planning your upcoming adventure -
please let me know if I can assist in answering any additional questions!
