Good Evening, My family and I Just finished our 1st cruise on the Disney Fantasy and are planning our second cruise. Does the Ft Lauderdale airport have a transfer and hotel setup like the Hyatt Regency in Orlando? Thanks Carinne

Hey there Carinne, and welcome aboard planDisney!

It's great to see you back here once again after that first family cruise together on the Disney Fantasy - and it sounds to me like you've joined the ranks of fellow Canadians who have caught that hankering for the High Seas! Ever since the opening of the new Disney Cruise Line terminal a year ago in Port Everglades, families of seafarers have wondered about how they'd be able to get there from the airport or their nearby accommodations so I'm happy to help provide a bit of insight as to what you can currently expect:

    • However, while guests staying at each of these hotels have been able to book transfers to and from the port, there are number of changes for those sailing next year. The B Ocean Resort will no longer be available for booking nor transfers with Disney Cruise Line in 2025 and transfers for the Marriott Harbor Beach Resort & Spa are currently only available to book until December 31, 2024. Airport Transfers between Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and Port Everglades are currently available in 2024, but the Disney Cruise Line website states "Private transfers can be purchased for sailings in 2025."
Your best bet is to contact Disney Cruise Line Cast Members directly about your options in 2025, especially as this information seems to be actively changing at the present time. If your family is among the many who prefer to take advantages of the services of a travel agent, they can also help to sort this out for you and communicate with Disney Cruise Line whenever these Pre- or Post-Cruise offerings are updated, though it also appears that folks have also chosen to stay at accommodations that have their own dedicated airport shuttle and then use Disney Cruise Line ground transportation from there. (This is in my opinion, much less of a seamless experience when most of these locations are in very close proximity. When I worked onboard out of Port Everglades, it was very easy to schedule a ride using an app and unless your family has a lot of luggage - this is what I'd personally recommend for such short distances.)

I hope this helps, Carinne - don't hesitate to come back to us for any more tips and advice as you prepare to set sail as a newly minted member of the Castaway Club!

Here's to all of your future adventures out on the ocean!
