Good Evening, I have annual passes for my family and the current expiration is showing one year from when they were purchased but we have not used them yet. Will this update once they are activated? Any guidance you can offer would be appreciated. ~Neil

Hi there, Neil! Welcome to planDisney - and welcome to the Walt Disney World Annual Passholder family!

You chose a practically perfect time to become an Annual Passholder. With the 50th Anniversary of the Walt Disney World Resort set to continue through 2022, I'm sure there will be lots of new surprises in store for us all year long! Let's make sure you're ready to make the most of it.

If you purchased your family's Annual Passes online, you still need to activate them in person before using them to enter the theme parks for the first time. You have one year from the date of purchase to activate your passes, so that's the date you're seeing in your My Disney Experience account. When you stop by Guest Relations on your next visit and activate the passes, the expiration will update to reflect the new date, one year from the day you activated them.

Neil, each member of your family will receive an Annual Pass card, which can be used as your ticket if you elect not to use MagicBands or digital passes through the Disney MagicMobile service. But be sure to keep your card handy even if you don't use it for park entry because you'll need to show it for your amazing Passholder discounts! We get deals on everything from dining to merchandise to special event tickets, so you definitely don't want to miss out on those!

Since Thanksgiving is nearly here, you'll be starting your holiday visit to the Walt Disney World Resort before you know it! Thank you so much for stopping by to see us, Neil, and I hope you have a truly magical vacation!

    Keep Disney Dreaming,

    Kathy K.

I've lived my whole life just an hour's drive from Walt Disney World, so I've been a regular visitor for as long as I can remember. Even after all these years and so many visits, I love that there's still so much to discover! Now that I'm a mom myself, seeing my favorite place through my son's eyes has given me a whole new perspective that I enjoy sharing with other parents of young children. Learn More About Kathy
