Greetings, Jennifer, and welcome to planDisney! I have to say, spending time in the pool area is one of my favorite parts of any Disneyland Resort hotel stay. Ready to dive into some helpful information?
Jennifer, each Disneyland Resort hotel has a uniquely themed pool area, each with its own set of features. You really can't go wrong with any of them! That said, the pool areas are exclusive to each hotel, meaning you’ll typically only have access to the pool at the hotel where you’re staying. There may be times when exceptions are made – for example, if a pool area is closed for refurbishment, Guests would be invited to visit a designated alternative in the meantime.
I see that, at the time of writing this, the pool area at the Pixar Place Hotel is
closed for refurbishment. I chatted with a friendly Cast Member at the Front Desk, who advised that the refurbishment is expected to last until sometime in March 2026. During this closure, Pixar Place Hotel Guests would be invited to use the pools at the Disneyland Hotel. This is subject to change, so if you're staying at this hotel, check with the Front Desk upon arrival to confirm.
I've stayed at all three Disneyland Resort hotels, and have been impressed by the pool area of each one. My family's favorite is at the
Disneyland Hotel. My kids absolutely love the Monorail waterslides, the multiple pools, and the Steamboat Willie splash pad. I like the mix of nostalgic and modern theming, and the surrounding tropical vibes.
The
Grand Californian Hotel also has a fantastic waterslide and multiple pools. I felt so relaxed here, surrounded by trees and Craftsman-style architecture. The whirlpool spa near the Mariposa pool is an oasis for sure! The Pixar Place Hotel has a really fun splash pad and a big waterslide. There is only one pool here, but it's really unique to be on the rooftop deck. The deck also features an interactive game area (which remains open during the current refurbishment), and you can head here to watch fireworks on nights when Disneyland has them.
Can I share my favorite tip about the pools, Jennifer? You can continue to use the pool area at your Disneyland Resort hotel on the day you depart, even after you've checked out. Just store your luggage with the Bell Desk, except for a bag that you'll keep with your swimsuits or a change of clothes. Your room key will work in the pool area until the end of the day!
Jennifer, I hope you have a fantastic time visiting the Disneyland Resort. Between the theme parks, the Downtown Disney District,
hotel activities, and the pools, you'll have a lot to enjoy. If you think of any other questions as you are planning your trip, please reach out – we're always happy to help here at planDisney!
Just keep swimming,
Kriss
