Hi Lee,
Thank you so much for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. I am happy to help you consider which resort to select for your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation!
Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside is a lovely resort. The feeling there is peaceful, and the resort is walking distance from Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter, which means there are more options for dining and relaxing. My family and I love a stay in a
cabin at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort! We enjoy having our own stand-alone cabin. We make good use of the kitchen and grill that come with each cabin, and we cook many of our own meals there. There is also tons of recreation at this resort - from pony and horseback rides to canoe rentals - you can spend days and days at this resort!
If I was choosing between these two, and given that you are planning to spend the most time at Magic Kingdom and Disney's Hollywood Studios, I would choose a cabin at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort. This is truly one of my favorite resorts, and you can access Magic Kingdom by boat from this resort.
You asked for other options as well. I might suggest checking out
Disney's Beach Club Resort and
Disney's Yacht Club Resort. These are located along Crescent Lake, which puts them a boat ride or walk away from Disney's Hollywood Studios. These resorts also have a great pool area called Stormalong Bay, which includes a lazy river and sand area!
I hope that these thoughts are helpful for you, Lee. Please do let us know if you have any further questions!
