Good evening... Can you please tell me when they take down the Christmas lights at Disney Orlando. And when is the last Migic Christmas Parade? I'm about to turn 60 and I want to go to Disney Orlando for the last time...

¡Hola amigo! Bienvenido a planDisney. I am so glad you stopped by with this question about the Most Magical Place on Earth during the most wonderful time of the year.

Christmas is my favorite season, and it seems even more enchanting amongst the decorations at Walt Disney World Resort. Typically, there is no official date for the end of the holiday season at the parks and resorts. I was there this past January for the runDisney Marathon, the first weekend of the New Year. Although some seasonal celebrations had been packed away, the Christmas trees and festooning were still on display at the theme parks. It was de-light-ful!

The schedule for Mickey's Once Upon a Christmastime Parade has not been released beyond the nights of Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. Typically, this parade has filled the streets of Magic Kingdom Park during the day the week of Christmas, starting around December 23 and running through December 31.

For your visit starting January 2, you will be able to enjoy all the characters and stories celebrated with the Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade. Maleficent Dragon is the most spectacular creature to light up Magic Kingdom Park. This is a not-to-be-missed event.

When I was at the parks this past January, I found a new seasonal favorite treat: Kernel Kitchen, where you can create your own popcorn mix. This is inside the Main Street Confectionery. They still had a Christmas special on the menu. Popcorn coated in chocolate and layers of peppermint pieces and festive chocolates... it was amazing!

As your trip gets closer, you can check the calendar for information on park hours, parades, nighttime fireworks and spectaculars to make sure you don't miss a minute of the magic!

A trip to Walt Disney World is a wonderful way to extend the holidays. I hope your visit fills your heart with all the joy of the season. If you have any other questions as you dream and plan, please come back to planDisney.
