Hi Elva,
Welcome to planDisney!
I am tickled to hEAR that you are planning a trip to the Walt Disney World Resort! Although there is no official payment plan, when you book a
vacation package with the Walt Disney World Resort, you can put down a deposit and then make payments over time until your final payment is due. Currently, the deposit is $200 and final payment is due 30 days prior to arrival.
To make payments online, you will need to create a
My Disney Experience account. Once that account is created, link your vacation package confirmation number in My Disney Experience. When it is linked, you should be able to see it in My Plans and you should also see a link to Make a Payment.
Like you, we like to plan at least a year in advance. I will price our vacation a year prior to get an idea of what the costs might be. We use that estimate to start saving. Then, throughout the year, I keep an eye on the
Special Offers to see the kinds of discounts that are released. Once I can book online, I make the reservation.
During the planning process, I also start a chart to plan out our dining for each day. As we prepare to make
advanced dining reservations, we all review the menus of each restaurant that we would like to visit. Using the pricing from the menus, I can estimate the cost of each meal (including taxes and gratuity). Those estimates then go on my planning chart so we know how much money to save for food.
On our last visit, we stayed under budget and I was delighted! If you would prefer to eat a few quick-service meals, remember that you can use
Mobile Food & Beverage Ordering. Although we used it a few mornings on our last visit, we definitely prefer having advanced dining reservations.
Elva, stay focused on planning. Be sure to follow the
operational updates since policies and procedures could change. We cannot wait to welcome you to a world of magic!
Magic and memories,
Donyell
