Ahoy, Kody! Thanks for sailing to planDisney with your vacation planning question! A magical voyage that combines the beauty of a Disney Cruise Line ship with stops at both of its private islands sounds like an amazing family adventure! I haven't had the chance to visit
Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point just yet, but I've docked at
Castaway Cay a few times over the last decade, and it's easily one of my favorite cruise destinations ever! I know you'll enjoy both!
Kody, to sail on a Disney Cruise Line voyage to the Bahamas from the United States, you are not required to have a passport. You can review the details for the
required citizenship documents online, but all passengers must have an original, state-issued birth certificate and guests over the age of 15 must also have a government-issued photo ID (note that digital or mobile state-issued IDs are not acceptable). While not required, guests can read about the
benefits of cruising with a passport that might offer a little extra peace of mind in the event of the unexpected.
About a month before your cruise date, you will be asked to upload your citizenship documents into the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app along with photos of each passenger. This is a great time to ensure you have everything in one place as you prepare to
pack your bags for a magical sailing! When you do pack, be sure to keep all of your travel documents and citizenship documents in your carry-on bag so you have them with you when you go to board the boat!
Kody, I hope this is helpful and I hope you find the perfect sailing itinerary for your family! As you continue to make your plans, come back to
planDisney any time if we can help with any other questions! We hope to see you again real soon!
Anchors Aweigh,
Alison
