Hey there Sally and welcome aboard planDisney. As someone who is severely affected by rocking ships and spinning rides, I have to manage my motion sickness very carefully. I approach it on two fronts: with stateroom position and with medicine.
In my opinion, the best position on the ship for a
Disney Wish Stateroom with Verandah is where there is the least amount of movement and that would be midship lower levels such as Deck 6 and Deck 7. My preference would be Deck 7 because there are no entertainment,
lounges,
restaurants, or common areas underneath this deck making it the most soundproof. I have stayed forward, aft, and everything in between in the Disney Cruise Line fleet and only had motion issues on one itinerary in the Caribbean when the waters were rough. Also, I use a variety of over-the-counter medicines, ginger candy, and other homeopathic solutions to help with my motion issue as needed.
The bottom line: you can be anywhere on a
Disney Cruise Line ship in smooth water and have no motion issues but it is by far the best to be midship with verandah access if you have any motion concerns.
Sally, I hope this advice helps you enjoy smooth sailing. Please feel free to drop anchor here at
planDisney again for any more Disney vacation planning tips.
Enjoy making many Magical Memories on the High Seas.
