Good day. I have read that Grand Floridian and Polynesian hotels are under revamp. Is it worth staying here? Or will it be irritating?

Hello Serilla, and welcome to planDisney!

Thanks for stopping by as you prepare for a fantastic summer adventure in Walt Disney World. Olaf's favorite season is such a fun time in the Most Magical Place on Earth. I love the vibes as families enjoy school vacations together. This summer will be especially memorable as several exciting new experiences will be part of our world. Check out this Disney Parks Blog article to know what to expect.

Currently, some renovations are underway at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort and Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. I stopped by both resorts during my recent spring break visit and barely noticed the construction. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend a stay at either resort and in fact, my family has an August reservation at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. We can't wait to enjoy the volcano pool and watch fireworks from the beach. It's one of our favorite places to call "home" at Walt Disney World.

At Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, most construction work focuses on the resort's west end and the upcoming Disney Vacation Club expansion. At this time, there are no planned closures for pools, restaurants, or shops in the resort's main building, all of which would impact your stay more than the tower construction. The renovations have closed the previously available walkway between this resort and the neighboring Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, but if you're interested in resort hopping between the two, take the monorail or water taxi.

Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is extensively refurbishing all guest rooms and public areas. You can see and hear construction around the resort during daytime hours, including the lobby. Most hotel amenities will remain available, but as of now, there are no planned pool or restaurant closures. Your in-room experience will not be affected by the renovations, but it's hard to predict what the lobby will be like as construction progresses in the main building of this resort.

I hope this is helpful, Serilla. The bottom line is you will have a wonderful stay at either resort. If the idea of construction still bothers you, consider spending your summer holiday at Disney's Contemporary Resort. While I prefer the theming, food, and swimming pools at the above resorts, Disney's Contemporary Resort features convenient monorail transportation, newly renovated rooms (starring our friends from The Incredibles), and views of Magic Kingdom Park. Best wishes for a memorable vacation, and don't hesitate to reach out again if there's anything else we can do to assist you further.

    Have a magical day,
    Betsy
