Hi, Chelsey! It's so nice to see you back here at planDisney with another great question!
One of the things I love about a
Walt Disney World Resort vacation is all of the convenient
transportation options. In addition to quickly getting you where you need to go, some of these modes of transportation, such as the
monorail, are almost like an attraction themselves! I look forward to going for a ride on the monorail during each of my visits to The Most Magical Place on Earth. One of my favorite views in all of Walt Disney World Resort can be glimpsed from the monorail as it leaves the station at
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. Seeing
Cinderella Castle sparkling in the early morning sun from the window of the monorail is practically perfect in every way!
The monorail connects
Magic Kingdom Park with
Disney's Contemporary Resort, Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa,
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, and the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC). There is also a monorail line which takes Guests from the Transportation and Ticket Center to
EPCOT, however, this line has not been in operation during the
phased reopening of Walt Disney World Resort. If you are driving to Magic Kingdom Park from a
Walt Disney World Resort Hotel that is not on the monorail line or from any location outside of Disney property, you will be parking your car at the Transportation and Ticket Center and taking the monorail or a
ferryboat to the Magic Kingdom Park entrance.
I think it's a great idea to head back to your hotel for a mid-day break before returning to the theme park for some more fun. You should have no trouble if you need to access the monorail when you are leaving for or returning from your afternoon break. Typically, the monorail begins running 30 minutes prior to the park opening time and operates for about an hour after the park closes. The monorail runs continuously throughout the day, and in my experience, you rarely have to wait long for the next monorail to pull into the station.
I hope you enjoy your ride on the monorail and every other magical moment of your Walt Disney World Resort vacation! See ya real soon!
Samantha
