Good day, Megan. Thank you for reaching out to us here at planDisney with your question.
I was just recently introduced to the convenience of Smartphone Stabilizers. They can be very helpful, especially when filming magical videos as they make the final product look so smooth. Also, I find it easier to take a selfie with a stabilizer's help as well! And did you even visit
Magic Kingdom Park if you didn't take a selfie in front of
Cinderella Castle? I think not!
If the particular model you own has an extension rod built-in, which I believe it may, it will not be allowed in the parks. According to the
Walt Disney World Resort Property Rules, "Selfie sticks, hand-held extension poles for cameras or mobile devices, flags and banners are not allowed in any theme park, water park or
Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser." However, if the model you are using does
not have a built-in extension rod, you should be able to take it into the parks.
If you are bringing your stabilizer into the parks because it follows the property rules, please be aware that there may be times in which you are not allowed to take videos or pictures. Kindly ensure that you are adhering to the rules of the attractions and the friendly Cast Members around the resort, both of which always keep the safety of you and the other Guests as their priority.
Megan, I hope that you have a wonderful visit to the
Walt Disney World Resort. If you want to be sure that you are capturing every magical moment, I highly recommend purchasing
Memory Maker ahead of your trip. At this time, if you purchase this service at least 3 days before your vacation, you are eligible for a discount. This service includes all
PhotoPass photos from attractions and Cast Members taken throughout your vacation. And because someone else is taking the pictures, you can ensure everyone who wants to be photographed is included!
If you have any other questions,
I'd be happy to help!
Don’t just fly,
soar,
Matt
