IS there an any good beach, oceans close that we can venture to for a day?we want a safe place so our two daughers ages 5 and 6 to see the ocean,we live in michigan and will be staying at the akl are so excited and cant wait for the second week of july.

Hi Angela!  Orlando is pretty much in the central part of the state giving you a choice whether to go east or west to visit a beach.  If you head towards Tampa you will find beaches on the Gulf. If you head to the east toward Cape Canaveral you can visit the Atlantic Ocean. This is actually a very easy trip and would take less than an hour and you can actually add to your day some visits to some of the space museums and exhibits at the Cape. If you are lucky you might even see one of the great Disney cruise ships.

Take 528 which is the road that you would take to Orlando International Airport on the north side. Continue on this and follow signs for 528 when it splits. There are spots where you can pull off and park along that route or continue straight past the cruise ships to several beaches and parks. Jetty Park is the first if you see signs for this area.

Don't forget the sunscreen and plenty of water. Remember weekends will be far busier in this area then during the week.  Have fun!
