    What's a good age to introduce small children to fireworks? Our son will be about 2.5 by our next trip, and if he was still awake we'd stay. Any advice? We'll go again so are ok to wait too!

    Hi Julie,

    Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. This is a great question but tricky because the answer will really depend on the child.

    I have two sons and neither of them were particularly afraid of fireworks as babies. However, my youngest developed a fear right around the age of three during a 4th of July celebration and now we have to be very careful about fireworks until he grows out of this phase.

    My recommendation is to check out one of the daytime shows that has a little fireworks pop at the end, such as Dream Along with Mickey or the Magic Kingdom Welcome Show and see how your little one reacts.  You may also want to have a some ear-protection on hand in case he seems overwhelmed. Sometimes just that little buffer makes all the difference between a crying child and a magical moment.

    Visiting with children at this age is such a wonderful experience with or without fireworks. I just know you will have a great time! Please let us know if we can answer any more questions you have.
