What is a good age to take a child to Disney World for the first time?

This is like the million dollar question asked to us almost every day.  We even hear from couples who disagree on the timing and want out help!

My answer comes from having taken my own children since they were 11 months old to now taking my grandchildren who started their visits at 3 months old.  The best age is every age!  I look back at the pictures and the memories of each visit and wonder how I would rate which was better then the others. I can't do that as each visit brought out something new and special in the children and I wouldn't and couldn't trade those experiences for anything.

There is something to do for all ages.  Meeting their first character or grabbing Goofy's big nose and getting that on film is priceless.  Watching their eyes in wonder as the fireworks are going off overhead is priceless.  Hearing them laugh at the Tiki Birds while they sing is priceless! Finally growing tall enough for their first roller coaster ride is priceless!

My best advice to parents about timing really doesn't have anything to do with the children but more to do about the parents.  The younger the kids are the more you need to prepare and pack such as diapers and formula and strollers are a must.  All of these things can be arranged to be delivered to the resorts or you can ship or bring them along but if you are not ready to deal with the little inconveniences of traveling with small children then wait until you feel more comfortable.  If you are not relaxed then the children will most likely not be either.  When bringing the little ones it is not all about seeing and doing everything but instead about enjoying the little experiences along the way!

Walt Disney World is magical for all ages!
