Hello there, Erica!
Oh my goodness! I’m so delighted that you came to planDisney to ask this question. I can’t imagine a more shining, shimmering, or splendid place for a proposal than the Walt Disney World Resort.
Erica, my sister recently got engaged at the Walt Disney World Resort, and it was such a fun day for our friends and family to take part in. You don’t need to contact Disney in order to propose to your boyfriend in front of Cinderella Castle. You just need to make sure that your proposal doesn’t break any of the
general Walt Disney World Property Rules.
Now, here’s an important question. Are you a morning or an evening person? I know proposals after the
Happily Ever After fireworks in
Magic Kingdom Park are incredibly romantic, but my recommendation is to go to the front of Cinderella Cast to watch either
Mickey’s Magical Friendship Faire or
Let the Magic Begin welcome show in the morning and propose once the crowd disperses. You can find the show times in the My Disney Experience mobile app or each of the show links. These morning shows have much lower crowds, and they disappear very quickly after the show, creating a perfect vista for photos. Maybe you can even ask a Disney PhotoPass Photographer to take your photo before you pop the question in front of Cinderella Castle.
If you are looking for a bit of extra magic after your proposal, you can always pick up a complimentary celebratory button from Guest Services or purchase a pair of
wedding ears to wear around the theme parks all day. I celebrated my engagement at the theme parks, and it was such a blast having people cheer for you while you’re walking around with your wedding ears on.
Please circle back if you’d like any other tips. I hope the dream that you wish will come true.
May the magic be with you!Melanie
