Hi there, Wayne! Welcome to planDisney.
I was just saying to my husband that I want to sneak in one more visit to the Walt Disney World Resort before my youngest becomes a "Disney adult." The main reason? The
Disney Dining Plan! My family loves
adding a dining plan to our Disney vacations, not only because it gives the vacation an all-inclusive feel, but because we love to try
all the food, drinks, and snacks!
The Disney Parks Blog recently broke the news that Disney Dining Plans will indeed return to the Walt Disney World Resort! While no date has been announced yet, the announcement was part of an article about the magic of
staying at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel during The World's Most Magical Celebration for Disney World's 50th anniversary. Those celebrations kick off on October 1, 2021, so I'm hoping that means we will see the return around that time. My advice is to keep reading the
Disney Parks Blog, as they will share updates there.
October is a spook-tacular time to visit the Walt Disney World Resort, and I hope you'll consider planning a visit this year. Between
all the new magic coming for the 50th anniversary celebration and
Halloween season, it is sure to be an unforgettable time! If the dining plan's return doesn't line up with your visit, there's still an easy way to budget and plan for meals: here on the panel, we often recommend purchasing Disney gift cards to use for your meals. You can purchase them as your budget allows as you lead up to the trip, much as you would make a payment on your vacation package. Then, use the gift cards to pay for meals around Walt Disney World Resort, or tap your Magic Band to pay and then visit the front desk at your resort hotel to pay the balance with the cards. I just did this two days ago at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort, and it was so easy to just swipe my gift cards to pay down our room folio balance.
Thanks for stopping by, Wayne! We're here to help if you think of any further questions as you plan for October. I'm sending pixie-dusted wishes that we are both digging into a Disney Dining Plan soon!
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
