Ryan from LA Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

Good afternoon- We are visiting DW Aug 28-Sep 4th and I cannot seem to find any information concerning Charcter Meet Ups. Are they currently happening? How are the Covid-19 guidelines effecting this? Any info plz! It's our first trip!

    Hi Ryan,

Welcome to planDisney! We're always eager to help guests like you plan your Walt Disney World vacations, but it's a special honor to assist with a first visit.

Because of enhanced health and safety measures, the Disney characters at this time are curtailing the hugs, handshakes and autographs that bring them so close to guests. But they don't want to miss seeing your faces and having a chance for you to wave, throw kisses and take their pictures. So in each of the four theme parks, you're going to find special daily character appearances.

Some of them are surprise pop-ups. You might see Winnie the Pooh chasing butterflies in EPCOT, for example, or the Country Bears dancing above the street in Frontierland at Magic Kingdom.

Each park also features daily motorcades and cavalcades at random times (to encourage social distancing). The Magic Kingdom cavalcades follow the normal parade routes through Frontierland and Main Street U.S.A. At Hollywood Studios, you will find the motorcades along Hollywood Boulevard. At Animal Kingdom, there are cruises and flotillas in the Discovery River. And at EPCOT, you'll find character promenades around the World Showcase.

I hope that helps, Ryan. Your visit is just around the corner, but feel free to check back with us if you have any other questions about how to make your first Walt Disney World vacation magical. Enjoy!
