Good Afternoon, Since Toms Island isn't available to go to, is there any other park to sit down maybe lay out a blanket?

    Hi Chelsea!

Thanks for bringing your question to us here at planDisney! A visit to the Walt Disney World Resort is not for the weary! Guests can expect to walk anywhere from 5-10 miles per day when visiting their theme park of choice. That's definitely a lot of wear and tear on your feet, so I totally subscribe to resting when you can!

Chelsea, while the grassy areas of most of the theme parks are off-limits to guests wishing to relax and lay out, there are some areas where you can rest and unwind. At Magic Kingdom, you can have a seat on some of the park benches, or in the small shaded areas near Splash Mountain and Pirates of the Caribbean.  You can take a leisurely ride on the Tomorrowland Transit Authority Peoplemover, which whisks you around Tomorrowland. For some relaxation and education, you can take in the 25 minute Hall of Presidents attraction. In Epcot, you can take a break from the sun and crowds in the United Kingdom pavilion, where you can sit among beautiful gardens. There are benches and chairs all along World Showcase Lagoon, and you can rest and catch a lovely breeze.  In Animal Kingdom, there are several benches that line the walkway to the various lands. You can take some time to sit and people watch near the Harambe Market. Another option is to relax and animal watch during the 22 minute Kilimanjaro Safari attraction. Finally, at Disney's Hollywood Studios, you can have a seat near The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror to recharge, or you can relax at one of the benches or sitting areas located throughout the park.

Hope this helps you plan your magical vacation!

Hi there! The Disney Parks have been a part of my life since I was a little girl. Introducing my children, husband, and family to all the magic that Walt Disney World can offer has led to countless moments with Mickey and Friends, Disney Vacation Club membership and fun on the high seas with Disney Cruise Lines! Our vacations are usually centered around a visit to the Most Magical Place on Earth, and I am super excited to help you plan and create magical moments for you and your families!
