Good afternoon, My son is turning 6 on Saturday May 12th. He really wants to see the Animal Kingdom Tree of Life light up after dark. If we book a room at the Lodge, can we exit the park to go to the room/Lodge for dinner and reenter the park for the tree?

Hi there, Lori! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

I love that you are celebrating your son's birthday at the Walt Disney World Resort! I truly can't think of a better place to turn 6-years-old. I know he will enjoy it!

I'm happy to report that with Walt Disney World tickets, you can exit and re-enter the theme parks on the same day! With a base ticket, you can exit and re-enter the same theme park on the same day, and with a Park Hopper ticket you can exit and enter any of the theme parks on the same day. As long as you have valid theme park admission, you can absolutely visit Disney's Animal Kingdom in the morning, head back to your Disney Resort hotel in the afternoon, then re-enter Disney's Animal Kingdom as it comes to life at night! According to the current schedule, it looks like the Tree of Life Awakenings takes place 8:35 p.m.-9:00 p.m. on May 12, 2018, but be sure to check the schedule when you arrive for your fun-filled day.

Don't forget to pick up your son's complimentary celebration button for his birthday. You can pick one up at the Front Desk of your Disney Resort hotel prior to your day in the theme park or pick one up when you arrive at Disney's Animal Kingdom.

Enjoy your son's celebration weekend, Lori! Please visit us again with any other questions you may have!
